Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for January 21 and 22. With the arrival of cold weather, we want to ensure the safety and comfort of all students.

Here are some important reminders and tips to help keep your children safe during these chilly mornings.

  • Bundle Up for the Cold:

Please ensure your child dresses warmly with multiple layers, including hats, scarves, gloves, and winter boots. These measures are important to protect against low temperatures.

  • Stay Nearby for Safety:

If possible, parents/guardians are encouraged to stay with younger children at the bus stop or wait in a nearby warm space, such as a car, until transportation arrives. Consider options for your children to stay safe and warm.

  • Monitor Bus Delays or Cancellations:

Stay updated on bus delays or cancellations by visiting the Toronto Student Transportation Group website.

  • Plan for Extended Wait Times:

Occasionally, buses may experience delays due to weather conditions. Please make arrangements for your child to remain supervised and warm if the bus is delayed.

  • Inclement Weather Protocol:

Learn more about our Inclement Weather Protocol.

We appreciate your efforts to keep students safe during inclement weather.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the well-being of our community.

Sincerely,

Toronto Catholic District School Board
