The Student Trustees of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) represent the interests of all students. Two positions on the Board are reserved for Student Trustees, and one secondary school student is elected as trustee each year, for a two-year term.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, the Student Trustee plays an important role in advocating for the needs of students across the TCDSB. The Student Trustee also chairs the Catholic Student Leadership Impact Team (CSLIT), a board-wide student leadership council.

The roles and responsibilities of the Student Trustees are as follows:

• ​To provide a voice on the Board of Trustees for students across the TCDSB.

• To facilitate communications between the Board and the students it serves.

• To provide the Board with insight into the needs and opinions of young people within its schools.

The two students currently serving on the Board of Trustees are:

• JoyGold Goodluck (elected 2023-2025)

• Ruben Da Silveira (elected 2024-2026)

Every year, one secondary student is elected to a two-year position as Student Trustee. The Student Trustee position has been implemented at the TCDSB for over 20 years, and is an excellent position for Grade 10 students who are seeking to advocate for students at a board level.
