Celebrating Education Support Staff Appreciation Day

On February 28, 2013, the Toronto Catholic District School Board declared the first Monday in March as Education Support Staff Appreciation Day, a day to acknowledge how much our Education Support Staff contribute to student achievement and well-being.

We acknowledge that the success of our school system depends on the talent, commitment and collective effort of many people - our staff, our parents, our parishes and our partners. We are extremely grateful for the tremendous contribution that these professionals make, not only to the individual students with whom they work with on a daily basis, but also for the sense of caring community that is inherent in our Catholic schools.

Education Support Staff Appreciation Day recognizes our Child and Youth Workers, Education Assistants, Instructional Assistants, Library Technicians, Job Coaches, Student Supervisors, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Support Staff and other professionals in our schools who support student achievement and well-being. They are trusted, caring professionals who provide mentorship, inspiration, support and friendship.

To all our support staff, we thank you for the energy, enthusiasm and love that you devote to our schools and our students, and for the invaluable work that you do each and every day!
