Student and Family Support Office

The Student and Family Support Office is a dedicated team within the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) that helps families navigate questions or concerns related to their child’s education, particularly when an issue is complex or cannot be addressed at the school level.

Start with Your Child’s School

If your question or concern relates to your child’s education or school and you have not yet had an opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher or principal, we encourage you to do so before contacting the Student and Family Support Office. More information can be found on our Student and Family Support page.

In most cases, the quickest and most effective way to address a concern is through direct communication with your child’s school.

How the Student and Family Support Office Can Help

Our staff can help connect you with your Area Superintendent and support matters that may require further escalation. We can also help direct your inquiry to the appropriate departments for support related to special education, mental health and well-being, transcript requests, school registration, and capital projects updates such as new school builds and renovations.

These are just a few examples of how the Student and Family Support Office can help.

Matters Managed Through Other Processes

If your matter relates to an anonymous whistleblower complaint (Integrity Counts) or a human rights matter, these are addressed through their respective confidential processes.

While the Student and Family Support Office does not oversee or manage these matters, our team can help guide you to the appropriate process to get started.

If you already have a matter underway through either of these channels, that office will continue to serve as your primary point of contact while your inquiry is under review.

Need Help? Here's How to Reach Us

To access support from the Student and Family Support Office, families must first complete the online support request form.

Once the form is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with a case number. We encourage you to keep your case number for your records, as our team can only review and respond to inquiries that have an assigned case number.

If you do not have access to a computer, have accessibility needs, or require additional support, please contact the Student and Family Support Office, and a staff member will be happy to assist you.
