Undertale Medley

The Grade 12 Band students had a challenging final year of their High School education. Their only wish was to perform together in person before graduating, but this was not possible due to the pandemic.

However, they persevered and organized themselves to learn and record one of the group's favorite video game music arranged for a wind band, The Undertale Symphonic Suite.

Congratulations on a truly creative and superbly prepared final performance! Your dedication and collaboration are exemplary.

A Note from the Band Department

Once the pandemic hit and live practicing were prohibited, practicing music was impossible. New ways of making music had to quickly be learned by all of us.

The Grade 12 Band class was the first group who learned, mostly on their own, how to record and edit their performances. They showed enthusiasm and an open mind toward learning the 'new ways' of performing music using technology.

The performances you will hear today are just brief moments of their full projects they prepared as their final ISP. Students chose their music for a chamber music repertoire that normally would have involved learning only a single part, practiced and performed with other peers. Instead, they learned all the parts, recorded, and edited them to produce their final product.

The repertoire is varied, including pieces in the Classical, Jazz and Pop genres as well as excerpts from well-known film music.

Grade 12 Band, thank you for your commitment, hard work and enthusiasm for this and the many performance projects throughout your High School years!
