Find general information about the speech and language services that are provided to students attending our schools.
A wide range of speech and language services are provided to students with communication needs which directly impact academic success, social relationships and emotional well-being.
School-based services include assessment, consultation, programming and short-term intervention. Services are provided to both identified and non-identified students attending regular classes, special education classes and intensive support programs.
As the optimal time for language intervention is during the early years, school speech-language pathologists work closely with educators to identify young students with communication needs and provide support within the classroom setting.
Older students with significant speech, oral and written language needs will also be considered for service.
