Psychology Month

February is Psychology Month!

Every February, the Toronto Catholic District School Board celebrates the many ways psychology can enhance our everyday lives and overall well-being. This month, we aim to generate awareness and interest in the diverse roles psychology plays, especially in balancing the responsibilities we have with children, adolescents, parents, and school staff.

National Psychology Month highlights how psychology contributes to the well-being of our community. Check out this video illustrating what school psychologists do and an infographic from the Ontario Psychological Association about the different services they offer.

For practical strategies to support students with common mental health issues in the classroom, refer to the resource: Supporting Minds at a Glance. It provides strategies for school staff to help students struggling with anxiety, mood difficulties, attention, and hyperactivity / impulsivity.
