Students in the Non-Profit Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program at Madonna Catholic Secondary School recently took part in an inspiring and eye-opening workshop led by Threading Change, the world’s largest youth-led ethical fashion NGO.
The interactive session offered students a deep dive into the principles of ethical and circular fashion, encouraging them to think critically about the impact of the fashion industry on people and the planet. Through engaging discussions and activities, students explored key issues such as climate justice, gender and labor equity, and the importance of dismantling the fast fashion system.
This collaboration empowered students to recognize the systemic challenges within the global fashion industry and inspired them to become agents of change. Aligned with Threading Change’s mission to build a feminist, fossil-fuel-free fashion future rooted in social and environmental justice, the workshop connected Madonna’s SHSM students with a growing global movement of youth changemakers working toward a more sustainable and equitable world.
This enriching experience not only supported curriculum goals but also helped students see how they can make a real difference—locally and globally—through advocacy, education, and ethical decision-making.
