Grade 12 University Physics students from Madonna Catholic Secondary School had an exciting opportunity to participate in a Medical Physics Lab Experience at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). This hands-on field trip connected directly to their Physics, Biology, and Mathematics curriculum, offering students a chance to apply their learning in a real-world setting.

During the lab, students used advanced computer technology to analyze optical density in chest X-rays, helping identify illnesses and gaining insight into medical diagnoses. They also met with TMU’s Robotics team to explore robot development strategies in Science and Engineering, even test-driving some of the robots themselves.

The day concluded with an engaging campus tour, including visits to TMU’s Science and Engineering departments. This enriching experience gave students a glimpse into cutting-edge research and future career opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
