Art students at Madonna Catholic Secondary School (CSS) harness their creative skills and talents to produce meaningful and reflective artworks, including sculptures, installations, and mixed-media collages centered around the theme of Orange Shirt Day. This initiative encourages reconciliation in action. Student artists and their peers explore the significance of the day, which honours Indigenous children affected by the residential school system in Canada.

Grade 10, 11, and 12 art students invite audiences to engage deeply with this work, listen to Indigenous voices, and reflect on how we can collectively work towards healing and justice. "Every child matters, and through art, we aspire to contribute to a future where such tragedies are never repeated."

By fostering empathy and understanding through artistic expression, students not only develop their artistic abilities but also play a vital role in promoting truth and reconciliation within our communities.
