We warmly invite you to attend the Solemn Dedication of Neil McNeil’s Chapel of the Holy Spirit and witness the unveiling of a remarkable part of our school’s artistic legacy.
Date: Thursday, November 28, 2024
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Neil McNeil High School Chapel (127 Victoria Park Ave, Scarborough, ON)
RSVP: RSVP Link
Mass will be celebrated by The Most Rev. John A. Boissonneau, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto and Neil McNeil Alumni, Class of 1966.
The event will also include the unveiling of the Mural of the Four Evangelists, a historically significant artwork by William McElcheran. Begun in the summer of 1972, the mural was left intentionally unfinished when McElcheran departed to establish an artist community in Pietrasanta, near Florence, Italy. There, he created sculptures at a renowned bronze foundry, many of which can now be seen throughout downtown Toronto.
The Spiritan Fathers chose to leave the mural as a symbolic representation of our students – like the unfinished painting, each student is a work in progress, growing and evolving during their time at Neil McNeil.
Join us for this special evening celebrating both our faith and our school’s artistic heritage.
