A group of enthusiastic Grade 10 students from Loretto College recently attended the Women in Trades event held at the Catholic Education Centre. This timely and engaging session provided students with valuable insights as they begin to consider impactful career paths.
The event highlighted the many benefits of pursuing careers in the skilled trades and offered students the chance to participate in hands-on learning activities related to trades opportunities available in Toronto.
One of the most inspiring parts of the day was a panel discussion featuring six accomplished women working in the skilled trades—including a carpenter, mechanic, electrician, and arborist. Students had the chance to hear about their career journeys, ask questions, and network with professionals who are breaking barriers in their fields.
The experience encouraged students to broaden their career considerations and explore new and exciting possibilities in trades.
