On October 24, 2024 (Thursday), Loretto College School celebrated women in sports by hosting Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) player and Olympian Kia Nurse, and Canadian Football League (CFL) & Raptors host on The Sports Network (TSN) Kate Beirness.
This event highlighted the experiences of successful female athletes and broadcasters in the field of professional sports. Loretto College students interviewed Kia Nurse and Kate Beirness in two assemblies to learn first-hand about the joys and challenges associated with a career in professional sports. LCS students, along with students from St. Luigi Catholic School, Madonna Catholic Secondary School and Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School, were also able to ask questions from the audience.
