We received a beautiful note from St. Ann Out of the Cold:
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the generous donations of socks and personal hygiene items from your students of Notre Dame. Your kindness and compassion have made a significant impact on our guests.
Your students' generosity will directly contribute to providing a kind and practical Christmas gift for our grateful guests. We are truly inspired by their willingness to help others.
I would personally like to thank two wonderful volunteers from your school who helped assemble the gifts. Thank you once again for your support. We look forward to continuing our partnership with your school in the future.
Thank you to Nahimi B. and Saron P..
We also received glowing reviews for some of our God Squad members who have been helping the members of St. Bonaventure Parish. Their last event was on Sunday (Dec 1) - and it was a High Tea event that our students volunteered at. We received glowing reviews from 3 separate parishioners, complementing the students on their professionalism, compassion and work ethic. They were most impressed with all of them. The students are: Ada C., Jenayra G., Ruby H., Alyssa K., Salem T..
Some of these students have helped with other events of theirs as well and have always returned with glowing reviews. A retired ND Spec Ed Department Head, Maureen Cassidy, reaches out to me when they need volunteers. She now coordinates these events through St. Bonaventure.
Thank you to our Chaplain Sandy Soave for nurturing these students' wonderful service leadership events.
We would like to highlight our ND mathematics students participated in The Rock The Street, Wall Street which is a financial and investment literacy program designed to bring both gender and racial equity to the financial markets and spark the interest of high school girls into careers of finance. Part one, was a project-based classroom workshop, that had female financial professionals who lead classroom workshops including hands-on financial math projects on money management and more during the four-week program. Part two of the program, included a first-hand experience at the Toronto Wall Street financial district. The Wall Street field trip is a capstone experience whereby students are given a rare glimpse into corporate office settings and the workplaces and work lives of financiers.
A glimpse into the day for our ND Mathematics students! Thank you to The Rock Wall Street Program for giving our students an incredible opportunity. Thank you to Ms. Tourangeau and Mr. Colautti for their leadership in this project.
Glimpse into Colour Day…November 28, 2024 (another successful Spirit Week).
Angel Foundation for Learning, Snowball Gala (November 29) was a huge success raising money for students’ nutritional programs across our board. Thank you to the Parent Council Chair John Sproat for donating tickets.
