Academics and Co-Curriculars

Athletics

The Athletics Programs at Monsignor Johnson offer a wide variety of varsity sports and intramural activities. They are designed to provide every student with the opportunity to become involved in athletics at the school. We believe that participation in sports allows students to develop and showcase their unique talents, build self esteem, establish lasting friendships, and have fun during their high school years.

Winning Championships is the highlight of any athletic program, but it is our belief that this success must not overshadow the development of such attitudes as commitment, dedication, determination and striving for excellence. While success is the goal of our athletic program, it cannot take precedence over such basic Christian values as honesty, integrity and fair play.

Our athletics are designed to complement a student's academic responsibilities; therefore, the privilege of participating in sports is based on a student's academic standing.

Pride, Respect, Discipline

Through the dedication of our coaches and our athletes, we look forward to continuing a tradition of excellence at Monsignor Percy Johnson.

Johnson Athletic Council (JAC)

The Johnson Athletic Council (JAC) is a leadership group within our school community. Our main objective is to cultivate a deeply rooted sense of school spirit through organizing activities such as intramural sports events, pep rallies, staff versus student challenges, varsity tournaments, and our yearly Athletic Banquet.

Varsity Teams

Monsignor Percy Johnson’s athletic program plays a vital role in both the life of our school and the development of our students. We consistently have approximately 250 student athletes each year competing in various sports at the inter-school level.

Our inter-school teams compete against all other Catholic high schools in Toronto, under the Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association (TDCAA).

All students participating in the athletic program must be in good standing and follow the school's regulations with regard to the team and the sport.

At Monsignor Percy Johnson, we aim to deliver a diverse range of athletic opportunities that will engage our entire student body.
