At St. Thomas More Catholic School, our students recently turned Pancake Tuesday into a memorable French cultural celebration. Students in Grades 5/6 and 6 organized a pop-up Paris-themed crêperie, serving the entire school community with delicious crêpes.

In preparation, the students immersed themselves in French learning activities, from mastering crêpe recipes to planning and decorating the event space with Paris landmarks. They took on roles such as chefs, hosts, and event planners, learning valuable skills in teamwork and organization.

The event was a success. Every class that visited the crêperie enjoyed the delicious crêpes and appreciated the hard work put in by their peers. The student’s success marks the day as a cherished experiential learning opportunity that combines their education with practical skills and an appreciation for French culture.
