The St. Martin de Porres Catholic School girls basketball team took home silver in the JCM Girls Basketball Invitationals, with Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic School taking home the championship gold.
It was a rematch of Scarborough schools, and the final of three tournaments held at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School, in which the schools flipped the results from their previous title game in the boys tournament. In a game that went back and forth, it was safe to say that these two schools take basketball very seriously and have athletes that put in a lot of hard work.
Tournament director, JCM’s David Damiani said: "We host tournaments to show JCM's commitment to sport and to showcase our inclusion to the community. We are nothing without the hard work of all the elementary schools, athletes, parents, coaches, teachers and administrators."
Thank you to all the schools that participated, and thank you to James Cardinal McGuigan for hosting three of the best tournaments in the city!
