Dr. Eileen de Villa, Chief Medical Officer of Toronto, graciously accepted an invitation this April from Ms. Jennifer Ng, Math/Science Teacher and co-moderator of the STEAM club, to speak to the students of St. Joseph's Morrow Park Catholic School. During her talk, she spoke of her journey from early beginnings, path to education, and the successes and challenges as a woman of Filipino descent, which led to her current role as a distinguished Public Health Leader.

SJMP students learned the many responsibilities of Toronto's Chief Medical Officer - including leading the largest Canadian city through a pandemic. Dr. Eileen de Villa's message was one of inspiration and encouragement for young women of all diverse backgrounds to seize life's opportunities, persevere to overcome obstacles, and to embrace fields in STEAM regardless of barriers.

Thank you, Dr. de Villa, for your time and words of wisdom!
