On January 8, 2025 (Wednesday) students from St. John Paul II Catholic Secondary School enjoyed an unforgettable behind-the-scenes visit to Coca-Cola Canada’s bottling plant, gaining hands-on insights into the company’s operations, product offerings, and workplace culture. This school field trip was made possible through the Entrepreneurial Grant.
The day began with students participating in Coca-Cola Canada’s "First Sip" program, which included the new employee/hire inductee presentation, where students learned about the different products offered by Coca-Cola Canada, including new offerings. The program culminated with students receiving free samples from the vending machine.
Following the presentation, students donned safety gear for a guided tour of the bottling manufacturing facility and warehouse. Staff from the plant highlighted recent renovations and technological innovations at the facility. Students were also given the opportunity to ask plant staff questions as they explored the plant and marveled at the scale of operations. A standout moment for the students was when they received a miniature prefabricated bottle, a precursor to the finished product in the manufacturing process.
The generosity of staff from Coca-Cola Canada was evident throughout the tour, with staff going above and beyond to ensure students felt welcomed, were well-informed about key manufacturing processes, received great hospitality, and gained valuable advice on the potential opportunities available to them upon their graduation from high school.
This tour was certainly a memorable visit for the students of St. John Paul II Catholic Secondary School, leaving them inspired and informed.
