From April 14 to 17, Ms. Ciarrocchi’s Grade 9 Religion class at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy celebrated Holy Week in a meaningful and immersive way, with students leading a series of interactive workshops. These student-led sessions explored how Catholics, various Christian denominations, and world religions observe sacred times of fasting, reflection, and celebration—including Lent, Easter, Ramadan, and Eid.
Through collaborative research and hands-on activities, students showcased the rich cultural traditions, rituals, and foods associated with these observances across different communities. From food tastings and traditional games to personal stories and thoughtful discussions, students created an engaging learning experience that built empathy, understanding, and cultivated a sense of community.
These workshops reflect the vibrant spirit of SJOA and we are incredibly proud of how our students brought learning to life during Holy Week!
