On April 10 and 11, Grade 9 students from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy participated in an exciting experiential learning opportunity at BallMatics Academy—an innovative program that integrates physical activity with academic learning.
The full-day workshop combined grade-level mathematics with basketball-based activities. Students engaged in a warm-up game, skill-building drills, a math-focused lesson, and an on-court activity centered on financial literacy. The lesson explored the concept of simple interest and saving money, helping students understand how different interest rates, time periods, and calculation methods impact savings over time.
This dynamic experience brought math to life in a fun and meaningful way, reinforcing key curriculum concepts through real-world application.
Special thanks to our dedicated Grade 9 Mathematics teachers for supporting this unique learning opportunity!
