On May 14, 2024 (Tuesday), the students of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy participated in an outreach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Sports (STEAMS) event in collaboration with the University of Toronto for Asian Heritage Month. Students were inspired by speakers including Dr. Vivienne Poy, Canada's first Asian member of Senate, and Vicky Sunohara, a Canadian women's hockey medalist, while also engaging with professors' groundbreaking research in cancer and kinesiology. Through hands-on activities, students explored the connections between Asian heritage and sports like dragon boating, karate, Olympic weightlifting, and cricket, fostering cultural appreciation and curiosity.

This event was a testament to our commitment to providing enriching educational experiences for our students, and we extend our gratitude to all involved in its success.
