Congratulations to Ljay D. G. and Liyenne V. for winning the gold medal in Senior Girls' doubles at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championship in Barrie on May 4, 2024. Their triumph is not just a personal achievement, but also a testament to the dedication and hard work they've poured into their passion for the sport. This is the first gold medal for badminton in the history of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Academy. Both students represented our school and the sport incredibly well during the competition.
Congratulations also goes to Coach Sean O'Connor supporting them in the honing of their skills and talent as badminton players, and to Marie Foley for her support of the team in this incredible accomplishment.
The OFSAA Badminton Championship is a highly competitive event, drawing the best young athletes from across the province. To emerge victorious amidst such competition is a remarkable feat, underscoring the exceptional talent and dedication of these two individuals, and the coaching they have received.
