All attire worn inside the classroom (i.e., sweaters, hoodies) must adhere to Appropriate Dress Code guidelines.
Outerwear (jackets, sweaters, etc.) intended to be worn outside only need not comply.
Suggestions to make the transition easier:
Many retailers currently offer a Navy and White “uniform” section available year round in store and online for purchase at various price points to suit a variety of budgets such as:
Old Navy, Gap, Children’s Place, Gymboree, and Walmart.
Please be advised that this initiative is board-wide and in order to avoid “out of stocks” during the busy back to school season, it is wise to shop early.
For those families wishing to add selected St. Gregory “spirit wear” pieces to their Appropriate Dress Code wardrobe, this option will be available shortly through the school or a vendor approved by the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB).
Dress Code in TCDSB Schools
All Elementary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt an Appropriate Dress Code or Uniform Dress Code.
All Secondary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt a Uniform Dress Code.
Parents are encouraged to review the local dress code at their child’s school and to direct their questions to the principal of the school.
