On Tuesday, November 5, the Father John Redmond Concert Band and Wind Ensemble collaborated with the Festival Wind Orchestra (FWO) and their esteemed conductor, Keith Reid, as part of the Orchestra’s “Music for Life” initiative.

Mr. Reid led masterclasses for each Redmond group, focusing on ensemble performance, musical techniques, and providing students with insights to enhance their individual skills. Additionally, members of the FWO generously shared their expertise, offering valuable coaching and mentorship.

The evening culminated in a special concert for parents, showcasing performances by the Redmond Bands alongside the Festival Wind Orchestra. The event concluded with the FWO performing two selections featuring members of the Redmond Wind Ensemble.

This inspiring initiative connected students and community members, emphasizing that music transcends age and background, uniting people in pursuit of a common passion. The collaboration between the Redmond Band students and the Festival Wind Orchestra was a powerful reminder that music truly is “for life.”
