Last Saturday, the students of Chaminade College School participated in the annual Electric Vehicle Challenge hosted by Waterloo University.

Designing your own electric vehicle is not an easy feat to accomplish. It takes years to get the right design, mechanical components and reliability to finish the race. For this challenge we had to build and design a 12 volt go kart that can complete the most laps in 60 minutes. It is not just fastest speed, but also how we can do it both effeciently and effectively in the designated timeframe.

After several years of moving up the leaderboard, our students finished in the Top 5 of schools, finishing with a respectable 5th place out of 16 teams in the 12 volt challenge, and remining in the top 3 for well over 45 minutes of the race.

Way to go Gryphons!
