Chaminade's athletic program plays a vital role in both the life of our school and the development of our students. We consistently have close to 300 student-athletes each year competing in various sports at the inter-school level; which is about one-third of our total school population.
Our inter-school teams compete against all other Catholic high schools in Toronto, under the Toronto District Colleges Athletic Association (TDCAA).
All students participating in the athletic program must be in good standing and follow the school's regulations with regard to the team and the sport.
Some of the teams we have include:
Baseball
Basketball
Cross
Curling
Football
Hockey
Soccer
Tennis
Track
Ultimate
Volleyball
A gryphon is a mythological creature that has the head and wings of a giant eagle and the body of a fierce lion. It is associated with fire, strength, faithfulness and intelligence; the perfect symbol of our school motto - "fortes in fide" (strong in faith).
Chaminade's school colours are green and gold. Green was chosen because it represents hope, progress and health. Gold was chosen because it is associated with prosperity, success and strength.
There are 3 athletic seasons that run during the school year and athletes can choose one sport per season.
