As part of the Life Skills Program at Bishop Marrocco - Thomas Merton Catholic Secondary School, students have been developing their culinary and adaptive skills by participating in Royal Cup Coffee. Coffee has been made, sold, and delivered by students to staff every Tuesday and Thursday. Students have also baked a feature item to sell.
With all the culinary and customer service expertise in the class, students launched a fundraiser for Mother's Day. Students in our Life Skills Program prepared, baked, assembled, and sold ‘Muffins for Moms’ boxes.
The hope through this initiative has been to continue meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students to develop skills which will allow them to be more confident and independent in preparation for future co-operative education or community placements.
