Specialist High Skills Major Programs
The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a specialized 2 year program approved by the Ministry of Education and offered to students in Grades 11 and 12.
SHSM allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
These programs enable students to gain sector-specific skills and knowledge in engaging, career-related learning environments, and prepare students in a focused way for graduation and postsecondary education, training or employment.
Bishop Allen Academy SHSM
Bishop Allen Academy is proud to offer an SHSM program in Justice, Community Safety and Emergency Services (JCSES).
Students interested in this sector can explore many career opportunities such as:

This program can be tailored to any student regardless of their postsecondary pathway. With careful planning, SHSM can be taken in conjunction with other offered school programs (i.e. Advanced Placement, French Immersion, etc.)
