Dress Code in TCDSB Schools
All Elementary schools within the jurisdiction of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) shall adopt an Appropriate Dress Code or Uniform Dress Code.
Parents are encouraged to review the local dress code at their child’s school and to direct their questions to the principal of the school.
All students are expected to conform to the St. Pius X Catholic School colour dress code.
Students are to wear:
Tops: navy or white only
Bottoms: navy only
Expected Behaviour
All student attire must be in keeping with our Catholic teachings and beliefs and reflect principles of modesty.
Students are expected to dress in a clean, neat and appropriate manner. No pictures, slogans or other graphics are allowed. Hats, sports headbands and scarves are not to be worn in the school during the day. For elementary students, make-up and lipstick are not appropriate. Aerosol containers (such as hairspray and body scents) are not permitted because of the school’s commitment to the environment and scent sensitivities.
Uniform Guidelines
No short skirts, bare midriffs, halter/tank/spaghetti/tube tops. No low necklines, front or back, no half T-shirts or tops with cut-outs, no cycling shorts, gym shorts (“arms” length for shorts and skirts).
No accessories such as spiked bracelets/necklaces or any externals not in keeping with the spirit of the dress code as determined by the local school.
No language and/or representation on attire that indicates gang affiliation and/or depicts violence, profanity or discrimination of any kind whatsoever or that otherwise demeans an identifiable individual group.
