The St. Joseph's College School HOSA Canada chapter attended the annual Spring Leadership Conference from March 27 to 28, 2025. HOSA Canada is a network of thousands of students across Canada and the United States that share a deep passion for medicine and see healthcare occupations as a future career
path. Over the course of several months, the team prepared for the conference by attending webinars, reviewing contest packets, and meeting after school to practice and test one another.
The team of six competed in several events, testing their knowledge in healthcare fields such as Clinical Nursing, Behavioral Health, Medical Terminology, Medical Law & Ethics, as well as Nutrition. When not competing, students attended keynote talks and various workshops, gaining knowledge in specific healthcare areas such as genetics & DNA extraction, taking vitals from patients, and gaining suturing skills.
Overall, it was a very busy two days filled with professional networking and learning about the health sciences. Our chapter looks forward to growing and attending next year's conference!
