The St. Joseph’s College School Music Department welcomed Mr. Mark Caswell as guest clinician to SJCS’ First Annual Band Workshop Day. Instrumental students from both Junior and Senior Wind Ensembles had the opportunity to work closely with Mr. Caswell, who is currently the Music Director of the Northdale Concert Band, co-founder of the Ontario Band Association Festival, and former Department Head of Music at Markham District High School.
The exciting day was filled with workshops focusing on tone and technique refinement, musical interpretation, and band development, as both of our SJCS Wind Ensembles prepare for the upcoming Ontario Band Association Festival. The SJCS Music Council enjoyed an in-depth workshop aiming to build skills in outreach, fundraising, team building, and governance.
