Congratulations to Shannon Anderson, a teacher at St. Cecilia Catholic School and graduate of the Regional Arts Program at Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School, who will be representing Canada at the World Irish Dance Championships at the end of March. Shannon qualified for the Worlds at the North American Championships of Irish Dance in Nashville, Tennessee, placing in the top 20 in her category.
The World Championships are an international event which will see over 4000 dancers from around the world travel to Glasgow, Scotland over the Easter holiday to compete. Only 1% of dancers will make it to this level of competition in their dancing career. She will compete in the solo competition, dancing in both hard and soft shoes, and is incredibly excited to take the stage.
Congratulations and best of luck, Shannon!
