International Baccalaureate (IB)
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
The IB Programme at St. Basil-the-Great College School is divided into two components: SBC Junior in Grades 9 and 10, and the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. SBC Junior prepares students in Grade 9 and 10 for the IB Diploma programme in Grades 11 and 12. Upon completion of the IB Diploma programme in Grade 12, students will receive the diploma.
