On Friday, March 7, 2025, School Trustee Crawford and Superintendent Peterson visited St. Barbara to connect with students, staff, and the broader school community. They were warmly welcomed by Principal Yeaher upon arrival, setting the stage for a meaningful visit.

The visit provided an opportunity for the leaders to witness firsthand the school's positive atmosphere and strong commitment to learning. Students expressed their appreciation, sharing that they felt honoured and valued knowing that Trustee Crawford and Superintendent Peterson care about their school and education.

During their discussions, students voiced a desire for additional resources and support to help them excel in mathematics. They specifically requested more hands-on learning tools, additional teacher support, and expanded after-school programs beyond those currently offered in Grades 3 and 6. Their collective goal is to continue improving in math and build confidence in their abilities.

"We are incredibly proud of the students for sharing their ideas and ambitions with us," said Trustee Crawford. "It's clear they are eager to grow and achieve even greater success." Superintendent Peterson echoed this sentiment, commending the students for their enthusiasm and dedication to learning, and emphasizing that their voices are heard and valued.

The visit reaffirmed the TCDSB's commitment to fostering educational excellence and ensuring students have the resources and support they need to succeed.
