On November 7, 2024, St. Albert Elementary School hosted a heartfelt unveiling ceremony for art decals generously donated by the Danielle Moore Spring of Hope Foundation. This initiative honors the legacy of Danielle Moore, an environmental advocate and graduate of Francis Libermann Catholic High School, whose life was tragically cut short in the Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET302 crash on March 10, 2019.
Danielle was en route to represent Canada at the United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya, at the time of the accident. Known for her passion for environmental sustainability and community building, her enduring spirit continues through the impactful work of the Danielle Moore Spring of Hope Foundation.
The ceremony brought together members of the St. Albert community and Danielle’s family and friends, including Principal Mariangela Murano, Superintendent Peter Aguiar, former Principal Giovanna Muscarella-Luciano, St. Maria Goretti Parish Priest Father Edwin, and Danielle’s parents, Clariss and Chris Moore, who founded the Spring of Hope Foundation. Others in attendance included Danielle’s aunt Lyn Abenir, former classmate and teacher Kim Macalintal, and parent volunteer Deborah Barbon.
The art decals, now a permanent feature of the school, symbolize hope and love, continuing Danielle’s mission to inspire and uplift communities.
