On March 4, 2025 (Tuesday), the staff and students at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic School celebrated World Carnival Day. This school-led initiative was spearheaded by the Equity Committee and the African Black Heritage Committee, a collaborative team of teachers and student representatives, who worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life. The committee developed and implemented several impactful activities, each building upon the next, to create a truly immersive and educational experience for the entire school community.

The culmination of the initiative was the highly anticipated World Carnival Day, where students and staff came together to celebrate the different cultures within our school community. The day featured staff and students wearing cultural dress and colours. We had an assembly with each cultural group within our school represented that included performances, music, artifacts and flags. It was a vibrant and joyous celebration that demonstrated how diversity is not just something to learn about but something to celebrate and enjoy.
