The James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School Concert Band, led by their music teacher Mr. Angelo Bernardo and assisted by Mrs. Patrizia Coiro, performed at this year's MusicFest Canada 2024.
Performing And It Begins, Crusade and Rider of the Mountain at Knox Presbyterian Church, the band earned a "Silver Award" for their efforts on May 13, 2024 (Monday). The band stayed at the University of Toronto residence for two nights and three days, attending many inspiring instrumental clinics and performances, including those by other competing student bands and world-class bands such as the Carn Davidson 9 and John McLeod's Rex Hotel Orchestra. On this exciting excursion, students received a glimpse into the university lifestyle and explored sight-seeing activities in the downtown core.
These festivals are often so inspirational and life changing for students who pursue the arts and in particular music. JCM continues its commitment to students, with ever growing experiential learning enrichment.
