From March 19 to 21, 2025, over 50 Fr. Henry Carr newcomer students will take part in our annual Newcomer Orientation Week (NOW).
NOW is a peer-lead program designed to help newly arrived high school students successfully adapt to their new schools and—on a larger scale—their new country. NOW is a Project of SEPT program. SEPT is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, Boards of Education and Citizenship and Immigration Canada. SEPT is a school and library-based outreach program to help newcomer students and their families settle into their education and community. It is sponsored by North York Community House and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Thank you to Ms. Amal Abou Harga (settlement worker) and Mr. Vince Pileggi, who have supported the program since its inception.
