After a four-year hiatus, the Father Henry Carr Junior Prep Crusaders have returned to the hardwood, and they are making waves in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) D-League. Known for their dominance in junior boys' basketball from 2005 to 2015, the Crusaders began this season on a high note, winning their own Junior Crusader Prep Classic in the fall.
Facing tough competition against 18 of the province's best junior prep programs, the team started slowly with a 3-5 record. However, during the recent D-League Session 4, they showcased their determination and skill by clinching three victories. The Crusaders defeated Victory Prep 70-65, CODE Academy 71-62, and secured a win by default against Full Circle Academy, improving their record to 6-5.
Key players such as sophomores Trevor I., Nana G., Ose E., and Caiyahs S., along with freshmen Efrain M., Carter P., and Mekhai S., contributed to the team's impressive performance. Their teamwork and strategic play, marked by effective defense and transition offense, have established the Crusaders as serious contenders this season.
As they aim for a deep playoff run, the Father Henry Carr Junior Boys' Prep team is ready to make their mark, and this exciting comeback is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more updates!
