Fr. Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School proudly celebrates alumnus and NBA star Dillon Brooks, who made headlines with an extraordinary performance for the Houston Rockets. Brooks, now a forward for the Rockets, played a pivotal role in his team’s epic victory over the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics.

Brooks set a career-high and tied a franchise record by sinking an impressive 10 three-pointers in just 15 attempts, an astounding 66.7% shooting clip. He finished with a game-high 36 points, just one point shy of his career-best.

Coach Melnik and Principal Malfitano of Fr. Henry Carr were thrilled to witness Dillon’s remarkable achievements. "DB worked on that same series of moves in our gym!" said Principal Malfitano, referring to Brooks’ training sessions in the Fr. Ted McLean Gymnasium over the Christmas break. Coach Melnik added, "That's the joy of coaching—seeing players bring to life the skills and strategies they’ve developed over years of hard work."

Brooks, the undisputed leader of the Rockets, continues to embody the discipline and determination he honed as a student-athlete at Fr. Henry Carr. His success serves as an inspiration for the school community, showing what can be achieved with hard work and perseverance.

Up next, Brooks and the Rockets face the Atlanta Hawks tonight. Fans and former classmates alike will be cheering him on as he continues to shine on the NBA stage.
