The Carr York U Soccer Program (CYSP) is thriving, offering students from across the GTA and Rexdale the chance to learn and coach under the guidance of York University’s elite coaching staff. As the only curriculum-based soccer program partnered with a university, CYSP brings together academics and athletics in an unprecedented way.

York University coaches, including Daniel Gogarty and Luca Forno, along with educator Michael Pimentel, are leading the program on the school’s state-of-the-art field. Coach Gogarty, a four-time OUA All-Star, three-time All-Canadian, and two-time National Champion, plays a key role in the initiative. With a CONCACAF B Diploma and experience coaching Vaughan SC’s U13 and U14 Boys OPDL programs, he brings invaluable expertise to the course.

In its inaugural year, CYSP received over 40 applications, with 25 students earning a coveted spot in the program. This unique blend of academic and athletic development is set to expand in the coming months, offering students hands-on experience with the York U soccer program.

The CYSP is setting a new standard for student-athlete opportunities, fostering skills both on and off the field.
