On September 13, 2024 (Friday), the 2024 Men’s 4 x 100 Olympic Gold Medalist and Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School alumnus Brendon Rodney visited FHC.

Brendon graduated from Father Henry Carr in 2012 and was a member of the Boys' Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Gold Championship team. In 2012, he received a full National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Scholarship to Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York.

Peter Miller, Brendon’s FHC Track and Field Coach, was also in attendance, and spoke of Brendon’s dedication, persistence and perseverance that contributed to his success as an athlete. Dr. Brendan Browne, the Director of Education of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), also spoke to FHC regarding Brendon's accomplishments.

Brendon contributed a great deal to his success at Father Henry Carr and receiving a scholarship to Long Island University, to the mentorship and coaching of Coach Peter Miller. Brendon also spoke of the importance of training and academics, and his athletic journey at the NCAA. Brendon also was named NCAA All American, won a Olympic Bronze Medal in Rio 2016, and Olympic Silver Medalist in Tokyo 2020.
