Fr. Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School reaffirms its commitment to community service through its enduring partnership with the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). With over two decades of involvement, the school remains dedicated to empowering its students to effect positive change.

In the grade 10 Civics curriculum, students collaborate in teams to explore pressing social issues within their community. Through meticulous research and visits to local charities, they deepen their understanding and advocacy for causes close to their hearts. The culmination of their efforts is the YPI Finals, where top presentations compete for a $5,000 grant to support their chosen charity.

This year, the spotlight shines on Youth Without Shelter as the deserving recipient of the grant. Grade 10 students Sara, Marcheno, Christy, and Renee impressed with their passionate portrayal of the charity's impactful work. Their dedication earned them this prestigious honor.

Fr. Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School, in conjunction with YPI, has contributed over $100,000 to charities in the region, underscoring its commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy. The school extends its gratitude to all students and teachers for their unwavering support and looks forward to continuing this legacy of giving in the years ahead.
