Our Father Henry Carr school community was honoured to have alumnus and NBA star Dillon Brooks return to our school. Dillon was a student at Father Henry Carr and received a full scholarship to the University of Oregon (2014-2017). He was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2017, and now plays for the Houston Rockets. He also plays for Team Canada.
Dillon returned to FHC to pay a visit to his former coach, Paul Melnik, and spoke to several students and the school administration as well. He expressed his gratitude to the FHC teachers and Coach Melnik, and discussed the many ways in which FHC and Coach Melnik were fundamental in his basketball career and success. He is currently working with the FHC community and Coach Melnik to give back to the community that he belonged to.
