Welcome to the Dante Family!
On February 11, 2025, in collaboration with North York Community House, Dante Alighieri Academy hosted Newcomer Day for over 90 newly arrived students. The day began with breakfast and icebreaker games, setting the mood for a fun and informative event.
Community agencies introduced their services and the wide range of support available to newcomer students and their families. Throughout the day, various activities were led by an enthusiastic group of peer leaders, all previously newcomers to Canada. They participated in team-building games and activities celebrating the diversity of Dante's newcomer students.
The day culminated with a dance tutorial for students by Dante's dance team, Coalesce! The grand finale performance was an energetic and meaningful way to close the event, strengthening relationships and nurturing students’ transition into the Dante community.
