STEAM Program

Bishop Macdonell has been designated as a STEAM school.

STEAM curriculum focuses on inquiry-based learning and encourages students to apply the principles of design thinking from Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

A banner consists of the following: INQUIRE: Investigate your surroundings; Narrow your focus; Ask comparative questions; Uncover your prediction; Initiate an action plan; Research and data collection; examine results and communicate findings.

This transformational education embodies our Catholic Graduate Expectations by integrating real world issues and promoting stewardship.

Students think big, investigate ideas and apply their learning through a Catholic social justice lens. This encourages students to realize their potential for the future and their contributions as stewards of God’s creation.
