The Board of Trustees strives to engage Catholic and community stakeholders, ratepayers, and all involved in Toronto Catholic schools to contribute their input to the ongoing development and strategic direction of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB).

The TCDSB is committed to ensuring that meaningful input from our community members is considered, and initiatives, policies and practices reflect our mission and meet the needs and expectations of the communities we serve.

The TCDSB is committed to the success of every student. Through the Ministry of Education’s Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act, the TCDSB has developed a comprehensive Student Achievement Plan aimed at effectively evaluating student success across three pivotal areas including: 

• Student Achievement.

• Preparation of Students for Future Success.

• Student Engagement and Well-Being.

These areas serve as metrics for measuring student success, and guide our efforts to enhance students' literacy, graduation rates, readiness for future endeavors, and overall classroom engagement. By systematically assessing these critical areas, we can identify strengths and effectively address areas needing improvement. 

Central to this work are our Multi-Year Strategic Plan, Equity Action Plan, Mental Health Action Plan, Special Services Action Plan, Safe Schools Action Plan, and Math Achievement Action Plan, all of which work cohesively to drive student progress and well-being. Faith is the guiding force behind our mission, shaping every aspect of our work. Our Pastoral Plan prioritizes faith-based learning for each student within our board.  

It is important to note that the data in this preliminary template is sourced from the Ministry of Education, reflecting student achievement data from 2022-2023, and data on the preparation of students for future success and student engagement and well-being from 2021-2022. 

Stay tuned for forthcoming details (May 2024) on the official launch of public engagement on the contents of this Student Achievement Plan. The final plan will be publicly available by the end of June 2024, with regular bi-annual reviews mandated by legislation to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness. 

The Ministry of Education requires school boards to submit a balanced budget by June 30 each year.

We invite all stakeholders – students, staff, parents/guardians and others – to participate in the budget planning process, including attending our Virtual Budget Town Hall and completing our online survey.
